I haven’t been writing my entire life, but I realize now I should have been. My passion has always been there, even if it took me 15 years to realize it. I wrote as a child and I poured my heart and soul into journals as a teenager. When it was time to take that leap from high school to college, I choose Journalism – still keeping the creative beast inside appeased. After college life got in the way, as it has a tendency to do. A few years ago, I got a position that freed up some of my time. A laptop, a few short stories later, and I was ready to announce to the world that I was an author!

Here are some of my personal thoughts on being a writer and life.

I Believe: That any person with a dream can achieve it – if they really want it. I don’t believe in luck, but rather my faith is in hard work, education, and trying. Thinking you can become a published author without putting in sweat and tears, is like thinking you’ll win the lottery and not buying a ticket.

I Don’t Believe: I am in this alone. Yes, the writing process and the creative ideas are mainly mine, but I’m not a fool. I wouldn’t be where I am, and heading where I think (*cough* KNOW) where I am going without the help and support of some other wonderful authors who share this journey with me. I Believe: Charity is good for the soul. I donate monthly to Toronto Humane Society and WSPA. If you have the means, please donate! Our furry friends need your love. Both are two marvellous organizations close to my heart.

I Believe: Writing is fundamentally about emotions. If I can get my readers to feel my characters pain, happiness, anger, and triumphs – I have succeeded as an author. I always want to hear from my fans. Please email me or stop by my blog to leave comments! They are always appreciated.
